8 Nov.Mesepa Edwards, Waiata's Creative Director tutored a very successful singing workshop in Yarrahappini NSW Australia. Her passion for using music, art,dance and drama as a tool to work with people drew favourable comments from participants as far away as Jamaica So much so the Samoan/Maori artist has been asked to return in the new year. Owairaka Community Garden
25 OCT 2010.Labour Day.Thanks to Thelma Cooper & her NEWLSC group the garden has been weeded so today Waiata volunteers and board members started planting.But hey, some community members had already put in their crops. Thanks to you.A visiting local Indian family were overwhelmed when they were given free Kale for their sick mother. (Picture on right - When community garden was at full bloom in 2007

PiBAC chairman on Pacific people's Panel
10 March 2011 Waiata Artist Trust founder Will 'Ilolahia ELECTED Chairman of PiBAC (Pacific Islands Board Auckland City) in September 2011 is now representing Pibac on Auckland supercity's Mayor Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel. A recipient of the Council "Good Citizens" Award in 2007 Will is one of 3 Tongan reps. on PiBac and now 2 in the panel

10 march 2011 Again Waiata's founder is Stage managing the 2011 Pasifika Festival(PF)Opening night concert(ONC), Unfortunately due to major changes in the new Council, the CONCH proposal m,entioned before is postponed hopefully for installation in 2012.
